Bosnia's independent news site Buka has been under serious cyberattacks since Wednesday evening, chief editor Aleksandar Trifunovic told N1, noting that someone must have invested "lots of effort and money in it."
“The attacks started last night at 8, and we reported it to the police who approached the issue very seriously. We delivered them the IP addresses and all material evidence we have. The attack is severe and there are certainly more people who are doing it in a synchronised way. With all the protection we have – and it is not poor, we didn't manage,” said Trifunovic.
This was not the first but probably also not the last attack on the website, he added.
“The biggest problem is in dealing with truth, and we have been dealing with truth for 20 years. We are the most visited independent website in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the moment. Looks like someone invested a lot of effort and money in the attack, because the owners of the firm maintaining our servers told us the attack was so strong it could damage their whole system,” stressed Trifunovic.
