Mostar’s famous Old Bridge was one of the landmarks illuminated in gold on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, to mark ‘Golden September’ and raise awareness about childhood cancer.
“The goal of ‘Golden September’ is to raise awareness about all aspects of the fight against childhood cancer, both during the hospital stay and the period of returning to the home environment after treatment. The fact that three out of four children win the fight against cancer speaks for itself. For the fourth family, the unthinkable happens,” the ‘Heart for the Kids with Cancer’ association said.
Apart from the Old Bridge, the buildings of the National Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts and Building of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, the building of the Cantonal Chamber of Commerce in Tuzla and the Captain's Tower in Bihac were illuminated in gold on Tuesday evening.
