Thousands protest against Lukashenko in Belarus (PHOTO)

The protesters demand Lukashenko’s resignation.

According to the TASS correspondent at the scene, the protesters have already passed the Minsk Hero City Obelisk. Police warned the protestors that the protest is illegal but did not prevent them from continuing their march.

Law enforcement also urged journalists to refrain from approaching the Palace of Independence even after their documents are checked.

Police forces have set up water cannons and barbed wire near the Victory Square and have armoured vehicles on standby for riot control.
