Bosnian tennis player Damir Dzumhur advanced to the second round of qualifications for the Masters in Rome with a victory against the fifth qualifying favourite Fernando Verdasco in two sets with the result 6:0, 6:2.
Dzumhur came to victory in 55 minutes, allowing the Spaniard to win only two games.
Dzumhur showed complete dominance in the first set and continued in the same rhythm in the second. He had the opportunity to finish the job with the third break in the second set when he had the first match ball, but Verdasco managed to extend the match for one more game, so the Bosnian player confirmed the victory with his serve.
In the semifinals of the qualification, Dzumhur will play against the better player from the match between Tommy Robredo – Gian Marco Moroni.
