The OSCE Mission in Bosnia welcomed the decision by the Central Election Commission (CEC) to publish the list of voters registered as voting from abroad in the 2020 local election, saying that it represents a step towards increasing the transparency and integrity of the election administration.
Bosnia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Tuesday that it published the list of registered voters abroad on its website because of numerous complaints about irregularities concerning the voter registration in previous elections.

Ahead of the November 15 local elections, the CEC said it received an enormous number of complaints concerning irregularities in voting from abroad but managed to review each one of them and took 27.960 names from the list.
The number of citizens who will be allowed to vote from abroad is now 101.771.
The OSCE urged citizens, the media, civil society organisations and political parties to report any irregularity they might identify.
“For the sake of the integrity of the elections, the relevant authorities, including election administration bodies and law enforcement agencies must be proactive in relation to election fraud. We call on authorities to investigate any such allegations immediately. BiH authorities, both the CEC and the BiH Prosecutor’s Office must be highly responsive to any reported irregularities and deliver adequate information to the general public,” the OSCE said.
“Such actions and other activities aimed at protecting and improving the integrity of the elections are essential to restore trust of BiH citizens in the election process. Elections must be free, fair and held in a fully transparent and credible manner, in keeping with BiH's international commitments and its democratic aspirations,” it said.
