The first screening of the 'Quo vadis, Aida?' film by Jasmila Zbanic in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place at the Srebrenica Memorial Centre in presence of Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian youth.
The event was opened by Zbanic and Srebrenica Memorial Centre director Emir Suljagic.
“First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the production firm ‘Deblokada’ and Jasmila Zbanic for recognizing the institution of the Srebrenica Memorial Centre as a partner able to implement one such great achievement. We gathered the youth from the whole region here today, who want to learn more about genocide in Srebrenica, they want to share their experience and contribute to the process of facing the past. It is of great importance to have people from Serbia and Croatia here, that we made the Memorial Centre the place of remembrance and gathering,” said Suljagic.
The film author expressed hope the film would serve as an opportunity of opening a debate among young people in the region.
