Bosnia breaks its daily record with more than 500 new coronavirus cases reported

At least 569 more people tested positive for the coronavirus between Wednesday and Thursday in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a new daily record for the country following a steep increase in the number of daily cases in recent days.

Fourteen people also passed away due to COVID-19 in the country in the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities said.

In the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, 181 of the 650 people tested since Wednesday were positive for the virus and four people passed away due to COVID-19.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, the Federation (FBiH), 1,635 samples were tested and 386 of them were positive. Ten people died due to the disease.

Bosnia’s Brcko District also reported two new coronavirus cases.

The total number of people who were infected with the virus since the beginning of the epidemic in Bosnia is now 32,224, and according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, 24,356 people have recovered so far.

The COVID-19 death toll is now 972.

There are now 6,896 active coronavirus cases in the country.
