Slovenia reports 834 new cases, tighter restrictions imposed

In the last 24 hours there have been 834 new cases of the infection with coronavirus and four more related deaths, Slovenia's authorities reported on Friday.

Currently, there are 5,413 active cases, and since the outbreak of the infection, 11,517 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

As many as 242 patients are being treated for this disease in hospital, and of them 45 are in intensive care wards.

Slovenia's Covid-related death toll stands at 180.

On Friday, a partial lockdown was introduced in seven out of the 12 statistical regions in the country.

As of Monday, only children in the first five grades of primary schools will have face-to-face education, while the online learning is being introduced for other grades in the primary education and for secondary schools.

Pre-school institutions continue working as usual.
