Radovan Viskovic, the Prime Minister of Bosnia's Serb-majority part said Wednesday evening that he could not exclude the reintroduction of curfew in this part of the country due to the worsening coronavirus situation.

Urging citizens not to go bars and restaurants, as well as other types of closed areas and to avoid groups of more than 10, the Republika Srpska (RS) PM said the measures introduced by health authorities are not there for the sake of repression nor are they anybody's whim, but that their goal is to save lives and the economy of the RS.

If the situation gets out of hand, he said a curfew could not be excluded as one of the measures.

Speaking for ATV, Viskovic said that an order had been issued that protective mask must be worn outdoors and indoors and that only children under the age of seven and children with disabilities who cannot put on or take off the protective mask on their own are exempt from this.

He concluded that these measures are nothing new, nor specific only to the Republika Srpska, but that they are measures that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends around the world.
