The German international supermarket chain ‘LIDL’ confirmed to N1 on Monday that it is analysing the market in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a potential expansion target.

“Lidl is constantly looking into potential expansion targets and analyzing local market conditions and customer potential. We can confirm that we are presently analyzing the market in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the company said in a statement to N1.

“However, we are currently unable to comment on the nature and extent of possible activities in this market or to provide any dates for potential store openings,” the company said.

The German paper ‘Lebensmittel Zeitung’ recently reported that LIDL plans to enter the Bosnian market and that it could happen in 2022.
