Joe Biden and Boris Johnson discuss cooperation on Western Balkans

US President-elect Joe Biden has already discussed a series of topics with world leaders who congratulated him on winning the election and among them was cooperation on the issue of the Western Balkans.

In the days following the election, Biden received congratulations from all over the world. Some of the European leaders who congratulated him were German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Biden and Johnson spoke about the Western Balkan region via telephone, a press release by the Office of the President-Elect said.

“Among the shared priorities they discussed were containing COVID-19 and promoting global health security; combating climate change, strengthening democracy, and working together on issues such as the Western Balkans and Ukraine,” it said.
