Bosnia's Central Election Commission has published its first preliminary, incomplete, results of the 2020 local elections, on Monday morning, where over 3 million voters had the opportunity to choose new heads of municipalities and municipal councils.
Just before midnight, N1 published its rough estimates based on party data of how Bosnian major centres will look like. According to that data, the biggest change was the defeat of the strongest Bosniak party - Democratic Action Party (SDA) in Sarajevo, where they only won one position for head of the municipality, and to the strongest Bosnian-Serb party - Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) who lost the mayor of Banja Luka to the opposition candidate Drasko Stanivukovic.
A neck and neck race is between Srebrenica candidates for mayors where after 17.86 percent of the processed ballot a Serb candidate and current mayor Mladen Grujicic is in the lead with 516 votes over a Bosniak candidate Alija Tabakovic who won 111 for the Bosniak candidate.
