Edin Forto is Sarajevo Canton's PM Designate, a coalition of left-leaning parties known as the 'Sarajevo Four' joined by the Independent Caucus announced Saturday.

“Edin Forto led the government of the then ‘Six’ and the citizens wish for the return of the ‘Six’ was reaffirmed by the recently held local election results. The ‘Six’ was the government with the biggest citizen support since the end of the war to date,” parties of the ‘Four’ (Our Party, People and Justice, Social Democratic Party, Independent Bosnian and Herzegovinian Bloc) and the Independent Caucus said in the statement.

The parties of the ‘Six’ were Our Party, People and Justice, Social Democratic Party, Alliance for a Better Future, Democratic Front and the Independent Bosnian and Herzegovinian Bloc who were replaced by the Democratic Action Party after a no-confidence vote, only to be replaced themselves by the now Sarajevo ‘Four’.

“In that sense, Edin Forto, as a former Prime Minister, is one of the most recognizable personifications of that Government and an expression of our aspiration to continue the work we started in 2018. With his return to the post of Prime Minister, we also want to restore the trust of citizens in the institutions of the Canton in the extremely demanding recovery period ahead,” the parties said.
