Albania's Defense Minister pledges NATO and EU partnership from Sarajevo

Albanian Defense Minister Pirro Vengu said that Albania "is and will be wherever the European Union (EU) and NATO operate to guarantee peace and stability."

Vengu is staying in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the Ministerial Meeting of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter (A-5), according to the Ministry of Defense. His visit underlines Albania's active role in regional security cooperation.
During his stay in the capital, Vengu visited Albanian military personnel serving as part of the EUFOR Operation Althea.
"From Butmir Camp in Sarajevo, where 31 of our members are honorably serving alongside partner countries within the European Union Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR) ALTHEA, and where I had the opportunity to meet with the mission's Commander and leadership team," Vengu wrote on social media.
The Minister stressed Albania's commitment to increasing its contribution to capacity and ensuring optimal conditions for Albanian troops during their service, adding that "the Albanian flag proudly flies alongside the flags of NATO and the European Union."
