This week the British Parliament will hold a second discussion regarding the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative for this debate came from Conservative MP Alicia Kearns. She was also one of the MPs who clearly called for sanctions for Milorad Dodik and those threatening the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the 1992-1995 war in the country, during the first debate in November this year. In an interview with N1, Kearns said that Great Britain supports the people of BiH and has a duty to prevent a possible conflict and bloodshed and, in her opinion, one should not doubt the resolve of British MPs in supporting their Bosnian friends.
She added that the initiative for the new debate was supported by over 50 MPs.
Kearns also pointed out that she was the one calling for the increase in the number of British staff in the Sarajevo NATO HQ, in order to show that they have not forgotten about the situation in the country.
Play the video below to hear her speak about joint military exercises she urged between the UK and other Balkan countries, possible sanctions against the Bosnian Serb Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, and other topics.
