The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office asked the Court for the detention of Serbian citizens Dusan Jovanovic aka Giba and Darko Dulovic, who were apprehended three days ago by the Cantonal police, in cooperation with the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA), in Sarajevo.

The two are said to be contract killers from Serbia, who were later found not to have been on the Interpol wanted list of that country, despite allegations that they had committed several crimes there.

According to unofficial information obtained by “Avaza” daily, Jovanovic and Dulovic came to Sarajevo to liquidate a high-ranking member of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior (MoI). This police officer has been working on the Sky app investigations for years and has received death threats before. Now the MoI must determine who ordered his liquidation.

Detention was requested, among other things, due to the risk of flight and repeating the crime. A hearing was held in the Court Wednesday and the decision of this institution is awaited.

Giba is linked to Serbia’s infamous Belivuk clan, but also to the clan of the Vracar criminal group. Media in Serbia claim that Giba has been associated with drug dealer Darko Saric for years. Last year, the Serbian press wrote that Giba even planned to assassinate the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, as a sign of revenge for the arrest of Belivuk's team!

Officially, the Sarajevo Canton MoI states in the report to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office that suspects had false documents during the arrest and that they are suspected of falsifying documents. However, the investigation will show why they were in Sarajevo and why they rented an apartment at the top of the elite building “Sarajevo Tower” and who welcomed them in Sarajevo.

According to the statements of witnesses from the trial of Belivuk's group, Giba is charged with the most serious crimes, such as the liquidation of two “scumbags” in Corfu, Greece – Alan Kozar and Damir Hadzic, who were killed four years ago.

However, despite these allegations, Giba lived freely in Serbia. It remains unclear why he used false documents in Sarajevo and in whose name and who hired him for the possible murder of certain persons from the criminal milieu, or even politics. For now, no option has been ruled out. “Avaz” also learned that a third person is being sought after and that the Serbian citizens in Sarajevo had a helper.

Intelligence structures in BiH already have certain information, and because of the investigation itself, Sarajevo Canton’s MoI issued a brief statement.

The duo’s arrival in Sarajevo with false documents is more than suspicious and the real motive is being determined. Primarily, because Dulovic was arrested in Sarajevo in 2018 and then extradited to Montenegro.

A cell phone with a Polish number was found with one of the arrested, all with the aim of making it more difficult for the police to locate them.

Their apartments were searched for hours, and their mobile phones and certain equipment were confiscated. Allegedly, the report showed that they had no weapons, which were to be delivered later.
