A group of 80 migrants has been returned from the Republic of Croatia to the Lipa camp in Bosnia's northwest, with the process of return not being officially recorded, according to local authorities in Bosnia's Una-Sana Canton.

“As soon as we learned about this so-called process of readmission, we officially addressed the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which runs the Lipa centre and manages the process of migration. Absolutely no one responded to our request,” said Una-Sana Canton prime minister Mustafa Ruznic.

He stressed that large groups of migrants are returning from the EU to the Lipa camp, near the town of Bihac, and that there is no official record of that.

During a visit to the Una-Sana Canton on Wednesday, Bosnian Minister for Refugees and Displaced Persons Sevlid Hurtic warned about a construction of a unit within the Lipa camp, which no one knows about.

“I will have to get informed about it, since what I saw in the Lipa camp is certainly not in line with human rights and what the European Union representatives have been demanding from us since the beginning. Someone will have to explain all of it,” Hurtic said.

Local media reported that, unofficially, the process of return of the migrants will continue in the following days.
