The average monthly net salary in BiH amounted to 988 Bosnian marks (some €505) in December last year and is nominally 2.2 percent higher than in November, and 3.8 percent higher compared to the same month in 2019, the state Statistics Agency announced Thursday.

The lowest average net salary in December last year was in accommodation services, food preparation and catering – 596 Bosnian marks (some €304), in construction 672 marks (over €343), while in administrative and support service activities the average net salary in December last year amounted to 675 marks (approx. €345).

In financial and insurance sector, the average net salary in the last month of last year amounted to 1,638 marks (or €837), in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning it was 1,500 marks (some €766), and in the field of information and communication – 1,480 marks (some €756).

The average monthly gross salary in December last year amounted to 1,526 marks (or €780) and was nominally higher by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month, and higher by 3.8 percent compared to the same month last year.

For the fourth quarter of 2020, the average monthly paid net salary per employee in legal entities in BiH amounted to 972 Bosnian marks (or €496) and it was nominally higher by 1.2 percent compared to the previous quarter. In the second half of last year, the average monthly paid net salary per employee in legal entities in BiH amounted to 966 marks (some€493) and is higher by 3.8 percent compared to the same half of 2019.
