Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has decided that this country will help Bosnia and Herzegovina with €200,000, which will be used for rehabilitation and work in the areas affected by the floods that occurred in October this year.
During last year's visit to Bosnia, Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is a friend of BiH and that this has been shown through the assistance previously provided in various phases.
“One such occasion was in 2014 when catastrophic floods also occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina when Azerbaijan sent $336,000 in aid. Four years later, our country helped BiH when the coronavirus epidemic took hold with $244,000 in medical and hygiene products and $588,000 in humanitarian financial aid. In 2021, Azerbaijan also sent 40,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against coronavirus worth $160,000 to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” President Aliyev's office recalled.
Accordingly, they pointed out that this aid of €200,000 is an indicator of the strengthening of friendly and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Bosnia, and that currently, the main goal of this aid is to eliminate the consequences of the latest floods.
