The president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegovic, confirmed that he will run for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the official confirmation is expected tomorrow at a session of the party’s Presidency.
As he stated for BHRT, he intentionally allowed the situation regarding his candidacy to remain unresolved for a long time so that people within the SDA would have enough time to think it through carefully.
"I certainly will not nominate myself," said Izetbegovic, adding that he received one hundred percent support from the party.
During the interview, he emphasized that he is convinced of his victory, although, according to him, Fahrudin Radoncic, president of the SBB, should not be underestimated either.
"Radoncic is a capable man; he should not be underestimated," the SDA president believes.
Izetbegovic also stated that the 'Troika' coalition, together with Denis Becirovic, has lost the trust of the people.
"I think the people are tired of this government, and rightly so. They are aware that if Becirovic remains, then the Troika remains as well, and the situation will worsen," Izetbegovic concluded.
