During the meeting with EUFOR Commander in BiH, Anton Wessely, BiH Presidency member, Denis Becirovic, strongly condemned the decision of the president of the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, to award the Order of Republika Srpska to Russian President, Vladimir Putin, saying it represents an “immoral act”.
Becirovic expressed his gratitude for the EUFOR’s cooperation with BiH’s Armed Forces. other institutions, local communities and law enforcement authorities.
He pointed out the importance of the new Agreement on Cooperation and Training for 2023 between EUFOR and the BiH Armed Forces, especially with PSOTC – Peace Support Operations Training Centre, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
He also noted the importance of EUFOR's role in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a guarantor of stability and security and that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to preserving a stable environment for all its citizens, as well as contributing to international peace.
Becirovic also pointed out “an attempt to disrupt security and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the joint action of external and internal actors who use open threats, as well as hybrid methods of action.” He condemned the unconstitutional celebration of the January 9 holiday in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, adding that it represents a direct undermining of state institutions.
“The award that Milorad Dodik presented to Vladimir Putin represents a civilizational shame. No politician in Europe thought of such an immoral act. It only shows that he is a puppet of Putin with the task of destabilizing this part of Europe,” Becirovic said.
