Becirovic with congressmen Walkinshaw and Schneider: BiH committed to NATO and EU membership

During the separate meetings, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, with particular emphasis on the political and security situation in Bosnia and the region.

Becirovic also pointed to the activities of lobbying structures engaged by the leadership of the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska, emphasizing that expensive contracts are being used to spread dangerous propaganda and false narratives directed against the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He stressed that such activities represent a direct attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement and an attempt to destabilize the state.

The Chair also indicated that a propaganda war is being waged against Bosnia. This propaganda aims to weaken the state. Unfortunately, the main centers for spreading this propaganda are located in neighboring countries that have not abandoned expansionist ambitions toward the country.

Becirovic stated that Bosnia remains firmly committed to full membership in NATO and the European Union and that strong support from the United States is of key importance for the continuation of reform processes.
