Regarding the approaching deadline set by the Higher Commercial Court in Banja Luka, which issued a second-instance ruling ordering RTRS to pay BHRT 5.4 million KM plus court costs, acting Director General of BHRT Belmin Karamehmedovic told FENA that they have received no information from RTRS, apart from what he described as a 'frantic campaign that has nothing to do with the truth'.

He recalled that the deadline for the payment is May 10 and that, since they do not expect the payment to be made, BHRT will seek enforcement of the ruling through legal procedures.
Karamehmedovic stated that RTRS’s total debt to BHRT amounts to nearly 107 million KM and that, based on an appeal before the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted by the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska, it was established that BHRT had suffered damages.
As this is only the first final and binding ruling, he added that they expect the remaining rulings to also be decided in favor of BHRT according to the same principle.
He also emphasized that failure to enforce court decisions entails criminal liability and that BHRT will not hesitate to use that legal remedy as well.
Karamehmedovic said that BHRT will ask the Communications Regulatory Agency to protect the broadcaster and respond to the campaign being conducted against it.
He stressed that nobody intends to shut down RTRS, but that BHRT has for years been trying to exercise its rights based on the 2005 law that was supported by all members of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time, including representatives from Republika Srpska.
