BiH Archbishop Puljic delivers €180,000 to earthquake-hit Sisak diocese

The faithful of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese collected €180,000 in aid, during Sunday Mass on January 3, for Croatian towns Petrinja, Glina and Sisak which suffered damages after a devastating earthquake, and this amount will be paid to the Sisak diocese, Fena news agency said Sunday.

Wanting to express the closeness and unity with the people affected by the earthquake, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, and the Archbishop Coadjutor, Msgr. Tomo Vuksic visited Glina Sunday and together with the host bishop Msgr. Vlado Kosic held a Mass in the parish church of St. John.

Immediately after the earthquake that hit Petrinja, Glina, Sisak and the surrounding area at the end of December last year, the bishops of the Bishops’ Conference of BiH decided to collect aid in all parishes in the country on January 3. The faithful of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese showed great solidarity and an open heart and collected €180,000, which will be paid to the Sisak diocese, the Vrhbosna Archdiocese announced.
