The Court of BiH has once again postponed the enforcement of the combined three-and-a-half-year prison sentence imposed on Bosnian Serb ultranationalist activist Vojin Pavlovic for denying genocide and glorifying war criminal and genocide convict Ratko Mladic, Detektor has learned.

The Court of BiH said that enforcement of Pavlovic’s prison sentence had been postponed until mid-January 2027 due to his poor health, in accordance with the Law on the Execution of Criminal Sanctions of BiH.

Pavlovic was due to report to prison to serve his sentence on September 9. The Court of BiH had previously granted his requests for postponement on several occasions, as reported by Detektor.

His lawyer, Mirko Blagojevic, previously told Detektor that the requests for postponement had been submitted "because of Pavlovic’s extremely poor health".

The Constitutional Court of BiH rejected as unfounded Pavlovic’s request to postpone enforcement of the judgment until a decision was issued on the admissibility and merits of his appeal, as also reported by Detektor.

In November last year, the Appeals Chamber of the Court of BiH sentenced Pavlović to a combined three-and-a-half-year prison term for inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance.

Two indictments were brought against Pavlovic for inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance. The cases were joined into a single proceeding. The Appeals Chamber sentenced him to three years in prison on one count and one year on the other, imposing a combined prison sentence of three and a half years.

Pavlovic was found guilty of putting up a poster featuring Ratko Mladić, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by an international court for genocide and other war crimes, alongside Milorad Dodik. He was aware that his actions glorified a war criminal and could cause fear and insecurity among the population.

He was also found guilty of approving and attempting to justify the genocide in Srebrenica by organizing a gathering in Bratunac on July 11, 2023. He produced posters for the event bearing the inscription: “July 11, the day of Srebrenica’s liberation, thanks to the Army of Republika Srpska.”
