Bosnia’s State Court has sentenced Goran Viskovic, who was already serving a prison sentence, to another eight years after he confessed that he committed war crimes against non-Serbs in the areas of Vlasenica and Milici between 1992 and 1993.

Viskovic pleaded guilty in the presence of a lawyer and gave up his right on a trial and appeal based on an agreement with the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.

Prior to concluding the agreement, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH held talks with representatives of the victims, injured parties, their families and relatives, who pointed out that they wanted the accused to be held accountable for the crimes committed and agreed to conclude this agreement.

After deliberation, the Court of BiH accepted the agreement and sentenced the Accused to eight years in prison, which it combined with the existing previous sentence that the Viskovic is serving and imposed a single sentence of 20 years in prison.
