Bosnia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Bisera Turkovic, proposed a Council of Ministers emergency session to decide on sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

“The dramatic deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine, caused by the ongoing military action and directly threatens the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, leads to catastrophic consequences for human lives and property. The humanitarian consequences for the civilian population are already devastating,” she wrote, noting that official reports mention fatalities and injuries of civilians, destruction of civilian infrastructure and people leaving their homes seeking safety.

She stressed that security and access to humanitarian aid must be guaranteed to all vulnerable persons, in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law.
