The criminal enterprise was condemned, it received its epilogue and I hope that it will never be re-established as an idea of nationalist projects in this area, Bosnia's Grand Mufti and head of the Islamic Community (IZ) Hussein Kavazovic said Wednesday on the occasion of the sentencing of the Hague Tribunal to general Ratko Mladic, who was convicted of war crimes and genocide.

“I want to say that the Hague tribunal had two goals in front of it. The first was to expose the project of the joint criminal enterprise during its trials which lasted for years, and the second was to punish the perpetrators of that criminal enterprise and in that way give the victims at least partial satisfaction which they deserve. Unfortunately, everything we've witnessed during all these years has shown us the strength of this crime and the true intentions and goals of those who wanted to create the so-called Greater Serbia in this area,” Kavazovic said.

He pointed out that right now “our thoughts should be with victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, but also with the victims of all other crimes that Mladic commanded.”

“What we need to pay attention to is Milosevic, Karadzic, Mladic, Krajisnik, who were the creators of the joint criminal enterprise and who were convicted for that and to their project that remained on the shoulders of Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina even now. The question is how long will that project last,” the Grand Mufti added, expressing his belief that everything should be done to thwart that criminal project and to restore the situation in BiH as it was before the war.
