Despite being defeated in Graz, by Austria with 27:23 on Sunday evening, the BiH handball team managed to qualify for the European Championship in Hungary and Slovakia thanks to the results from previous matches.

As one of the four best third-placed teams, the BiH team managed to fight its way to the competition of the best European national teams, which will be held in Hungary and Slovakia in January next year. Austria had the lead from the beginning to the end of the match and recorded a victory which brought them to second place in the group.

In the first half of the match, the Austrians had a constant advantage of three and sometimes four-goal, something they had no problem maintaining throughout the match.

The BiH team achieved victories in the qualifications against Estonia (21:19) and Austria (27:21), while it was defeated by Germany twice (25:21 and 26:24), and once by Estonia (24:21) and tonight by Austria (27:23).

This will be the second time in history that the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has qualified for the European Championship. The BiH team also participated in the previous European Championship in 2020, which was held in Austria, Norway and Sweden.
