Bosnia's Foreign Ministry sent a letter to all BiH embassies and consulates general abroad asking for certain amounts of oxygen for BiH health facilities.

“This morning, the Office of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH submitted a request for maximum engagement of all diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to urgently find medical oxygen producers who would be ready to deliver certain amounts of oxygen for medical institutions in the country, in the shortest possible time,” the letter reads.

BiH Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic also asked that they send daily reports on their findings.

BiH hospitals have been flooded with the third wave of coronavirus infections causing still minor oxygen shortages. So far, they were able to cope with the problem but they warned should patients continue coming in such high numbers, the shortage would produce serious consequences for the patients in need of oxygen and intubation for ventilators.
