During the BiH Presidency session on Thursday, Chair Zeljka Cvijanovic and members Zeljko Komsic and Denis Becirovic discussed the appointment of Borjana Kristo to the post of Chair of the Council of Ministers, as the country's government is officially called, after which she was elected for office following a two to one vote.

Earlier, Komsic asked Kristo to present an exposition, but she did not do so, thus the question arose as to whether he would vote against her appointment. After the session, Komsic's cabinet told N1 that he was the one who voted against her appointment because he disagrees with the newly-formed government's policy.

However, this was not an obstacle because she was elected by a simple majority.

“Today we had two options. The first was that Zoran Tegeltija remains the Chair of the Council of Ministers in the technical mandate, the Chair who led the worst Council of Ministers in this century, and the second option was to open the process of forming the council of Ministers. There was no third option,” Becirovic said after the session.

The newly appointed head of BiH government is a long-time member of the centre-right Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH). Currently, she serves as deputy leader to Dragan Covic and is his person of trust.
