The fight against ideologies of evil and fascism still lasts even today, years after the collapse of fascist and Nazi regimes in last century, Bosnia Presidency member Zeljko Komsic said on the occasion of the Victory Day, stressing that Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens can be proud of its two anti-fascist movements, the People's Liberation Movement and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which secured the statehood, sovereignty and independence to the country. People's heroes of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the WWII who fought against fascists and quislings and Golden Lilies who defended the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina from aggression and rehabilitated fascism, stressed Komsic, fought for the same state and for the same civilisational values.

“From 1992 to 1995, the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to defend the values of anti-fascism and the values of all those free-minded people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who fought to defend and preserve Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said, adding that it will “never be possible to draw parallels and put a sign of equality between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and those who, in cooperation with the aggressor forces, sought to destroy Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

All such attempts, Komsic noted, “will meet with resolute resistance from all people who sincerely love this country and want to live in it in peace and harmony.”

“As a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I will always be emphasising this, because what we fought for was right, humane and civilised. We will continue this fight with all democratic means, enabled by the Constitution and the laws of our state, and we will never give up on that, because we are fighting for what is normal, for freedom and for the equality of all citizens,” Komsic underlined and ended the Victory Day message with the ‘Death to Fascism’ salute.
