The leader of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), one of the main opposition parties in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Branislav Borenovic, said that the support the Bosnian Serb member of BiH’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, expressed for a political agreement in Brussels on Sunday shows his “capitulating policy.”
He said that the meeting in Brussels was one in a series of “events that have been happening for the last decade” and that it “will not bring anything”.
“Years go by, there is no progress, and the country is declining demographically and economically and in terms of values,” said Borenovic, emphasising that he considers political elites who are afraid of order, rules and standards responsible for the situation.
He said that the ruling “corrupt elites” are the biggest opponents of European values, EU integration and the rule of law.
Borenovic said he did not support the document in Brussels because he “did not want to have anything to do with corrupt politicians, even on paper.”
He said that Dodik’s support for the document is an indicator of “the capitulating policy of Milorad Dodik and the SNSD.”
“This shows that Dodik is saying one thing in the Republika Srpska National Assembly, another thing in Brussels, and a third thing somewhere in the east,” Borenovic said, adding that this capitulation can best be seen in the part of the document which says BiH will continue to align its foreign policy with that of the EU.
