The Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Davis Cup players of the BiH national team extend their sincere support to the world number 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic, Tuesday over his denied entry in Australia and opportunity to play in this year's first Grand Slam "Australian Open".
“In this regard, the Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Davis Cup players of the BiH national team express disappointment with the unfortunate events and the situation in which the world's number one and a top athlete such as Novak Djokovic was. We hope that something like this will never happen to any other athlete in the world.
Djokovic has visited Bosnia and Herzegovina several times in the past, and his work has shown that he is one of the most humane athletes in the world. Novak is constantly advocating for the development of young tennis players from the region, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided conditions for training and financial support to many tennis players. The Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina finds the message sent from Australia harmful and that with this development of the situation, tennis and sports, in general, had lost the most.
We would like to emphasize once again that the Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Davis Cup national team of BiH give full support to the best tennis player in the world Novak Djokovic, his team and the whole family, with sincere wishes to get out of this situation even stronger.
We also wish him continued success in tennis, and that the temptation he went through will only be an additional motivation to be an even bigger champion,” the Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina said in a statement.
