Several top officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemned the latest statement of the President of the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, who said that the RS and Serbia will eventually be “one state”. According to BiH Presidency member, Denis Becirovic, Dodik admitted that there is a criminal attempt to create a "Greater Serbia”.

“Milorad Dodik's public acknowledgement that he is working on the implementation of the Greater Serbia project should not be ignored. In today's speech, he publicly acknowledged and announced the key anti-Dayton Agreement project’s tasks that many in the international community and within Bosnia and Herzegovina had underestimated for years: 1. That the criminal project of greater Serbia, which in the 1990s led to aggression against neighbouring countries and to the genocide against Bosniaks, he is not dead. 2. That there is a well-designed large-state plan that is being implemented with the aim of “declaring the RS a state and uniting it with Serbia”. 3. That the president of BiH’s RS entity Milorad Dodik is publicly working to destroy a full member of the United Nations – the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to destroy the peace process,” said Becirovic.

He also asked why Serbia’s President, Aleksandar Vucic, who also spoke at the event in Donja Gradina, “did not publicly distance himself from the criminal project directed against the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina?”

“Why does Dodik intensify the demolition of the fundamental principles of international and national law after each arrival from Belgrade? Why are the key states of the European Union not acting promptly and concretely? Why does the EU not join the policy of the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in sanctioning the policy of endangering peace and stability in Southeast Europe?”, he asked.

Becirovic urged all political actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina to “stop ignoring threats to destroy the peace process and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina” and judicial officials to “either start doing what it is being paid to do or resign.”

BiH’s Foreign Affairs Minister, ELmedin Konakovic, invited all those who spread Dodik’s rhetoric to “a paintball match”, so they can “feel what it's like to spend the night in the forest where they are willing to send other people's children.

“Everyone in BiH, and beyond, know that any violent process of secession or violent process of changing the achieved internal arrangement would lead to conflict. Neither mine nor Dodik's dreams can be realized unilaterally, in this country we can only achieve things we agree on,” Konakovic told N1.

“I invite those who use the rhetoric of conflict to a paintball fight in our mountains, for about 15 days, we don't have to take longer than that. So they feel what it's like to spend one night in the forests where they would send other people's children. Most of them haven't even spent the night outdoors as boy scouts, and I'm sure their plan is to send other people's children there,” Konakovic said.

The Bosnian Croat member of the BiH Presidency, Zeljko Komsic, argued that Dodik “did not reveal anything new.”

“He goes on as usual, towards the final goal, and today he very openly said that the goal is to annex part of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Serbia. We know that it is one of the goals that the aggressor failed to realize, but we see that they are not giving up on that goal,” Komsic told N1.
