A Memorandum of Understanding for the preservation, development and promotion of the label "The Most Beautiful Village of Bosnia and Herzegovina" on the domestic and international market was signed on Monday between the City of Mostar and the Association for the Development of Rural of Tourism in BiH, “Alterural” - for the village of Blagaj, which is the holder of the label "The Most Beautiful Village of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

The memorandum was signed by Radmila Komadin, Chief Advisor of the City of Mostar, on behalf of Mostar and Director Sarah Devisme on behalf of the “Alterural” Association. The purpose of signing the Memorandum is to establish cooperation between Alterural and the City of Mostar, for the village of Blagaj, which met the criteria and was awarded the status of holder of the label “The Most Beautiful Village of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” to emphasize joint efforts aimed at further working on preservation, development and promotion of the initiative “The Most Beautiful Villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

According to Bljesakinfo, the village of Blagaj was awarded the title due to its unique characteristics.

The Quality Commission established by the “Alterural” Association made the decision. It was made up of renowned and independent experts in architecture, ethnography, landscape design, heritage conservation, sustainable tourism, rural development and the environment based on a detailed quality standard.

“The most beautiful villages of Bosnia and Herzegovina” include farmers, producers of food products and handicrafts in the village of Blagaj and its vicinity, accommodation providers, providers of various products and tourist experiences, restaurants, museums and institutions dealing with the development of sustainable tourism and other relevant actors to increase the business opportunities of all involved in the title.
