US State Secretary Antony Blinken's letter to BiH Presidency confirms that the United States is the closest friend and greatest advocate of successful Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosniak Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic said Friday.
“I expect their stronger engagement and support in removing the obstacles we face, which have led to a stalemate on our European path,” Dzaferovic added.
He believes Blinken’s message that the Dayton Peace Agreement is not carved in stone is extremely important, and that changes to the Constitution are necessary in order to meet the requirements of international and domestic courts to eliminate discrimination and ensure equality.
“It’s certain that domestic institutions and political forces must play a leading role in initiating and implementing reforms, with the support of our key partners in Washington and Brussels,” he noted.
