Body of elderly woman found near Lukavac, investigation underway

According to the Tuzla Canton Interior Ministry, local police in Lukavac received a report about the body at approximately 5:20 pm. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, confirmed the report, and secured the area.

A medical examiner from the Lukavac Health Centre pronounced the woman dead and noted visible injuries on her body.

The investigation began on Saturday and continued into Sunday under the supervision of a cantonal prosecutor. Crime scene units from the Tuzla Canton Police Directorate and the Lukavac Criminal Police Department are conducting the inquiry.

Authorities have not released any official information regarding the cause of death or whether foul play is suspected. The woman has been identified as a returnee of Serb ethnicity. The investigation is ongoing.
