European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell warned on Monday that Russia could initiate the activities towards destabilisation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the Western Balkans in general.
Speaking at a press conferrence following the meeting of the EU defence ministers, Borrell said that his last week's decision to enhance the Althea mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina with 500 more troops was a “proportionate” sign of the EU's determination to preserve the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which may face Russia's destabilising activities in the region.
He also said that Moldova and Georigia could be under stronger Russia's pressure in the following days, and he announced his visit to Moldova.
Borrell announced a more significant assistance to Ukraine, which is providing a strong resistance to the aggression of Russia.
