A delegate in Bosnia’s House of Peoples, Dzemal Smajic, submitted a criminal complaint, on Thursday, to the BiH Prosecutor's Office against the President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, as well as his close associates.

The criminal complaint states, among other things, that “there is evidence that Dodik committed several criminal acts, for which the Prosecutor's Office should have reacted ex officio a long time ago.”

Since the Prosecutor's Office did nothing, Smajic told N1 he decided to collect numerous pieces of evidence from Dodik's public appearances, speeches, and statements, but also from the institutional activities of both him and his associates from the RS National Assembly.

Smajic recalled numerous speeches in which genocide was openly denied, but also alleged hatred against Bosniaks which was openly spread, including the statement that he does not want to “breathe the same air with them” and that “it is enough for Bosniaks to live on 25 percent of Bosnia’s territory.”

The genocide denial and the incitement of hatred is especially noticeable after the announcement that the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica will be presented to the UN General Assembly.

Smajic told N1 that in conversations with numerous Bosniak returnees from eastern Bosnia, especially Srebrenica, he noticed that they were in fear and that some told him that they had packed their suitcases to leave their homes.

“If that is not enough evidence for the Prosecutor's Office, then what is,” Smajic asked.
