From January to August 2024, Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed 1,308,147 tourists, reflecting a 10.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Domestic tourism grew by 2.3%, while visits by foreign tourists surged by 14.4% compared to the previous year.
Tourists also recorded 2,767,926 overnight stays during this period, an 8% rise from 2023. Overnight stays by domestic tourists increased by 1.5%, and foreign tourists registered a 10.9% increase. Domestic tourists accounted for 28.7% of the total overnight stays, with foreign tourists representing 71.3%.
Among foreign visitors, the highest overnight stays came from Croatia (13.1%), Serbia (11.6%), Turkey and Saudi Arabia (both 9.6%), Slovenia (5.4%), Germany (4.2%), the USA (3.2%), Italy (2.9%), and Poland (2.8%), making up 62.4% of all overnight stays. The remaining 37.6% were from other countries.
