The Bosnia and Herzegovina Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved €250,000 worth of aid for earthquake-hit parts in Croatia and set aside €50,000 for Kostajnica municipality in BiH which was also damaged in the 29 December tremor.
Two people in Kostajnica, which is close to the Croatian border, were lightly injured and nearly every building was damaged in the magnitude 6.2 quake in Croatia's Banija region.
“The funds are aimed for the recovery from the consequences of the earthquake that caused serious material damage in late December last year in Kostajnica, the municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina bordering the Republic of Croatia,” said the statement issued following the phone session.
Numerous BiH organisations, including the Red Cross and Caritas, as well as the Islamic Community and private companies have taken part in collecting and sending aid.
