"I wish to congratulate all Muslim men and women on the election of the new Grand Mufti, Prof. Dr. Nedzad Grabus. We are all happy that this process, thank God, has been brought to an end and that it took place in the best possible way," said Dr. Kavazovic.
Pointing to the challenges that future work and development of the Community will bring, he emphasized the importance of new visions.
"Behind us are years that were what they were. A new time will, naturally, require new forward steps within the Islamic Community. I congratulate Prof. Dr. Nedzad Grabus, our new Grand Mufti. I wish him good health and strength to further lead, improve, and develop our Community with all its members," stated Dr. Kavazovic.
Speaking about the course and atmosphere during the electoral proceedings, Dr. Kavazovic highlighted the specific character and democratic maturity of the election system within the Islamic Community in BiH.
"I am very happy and pleased that our candidates, who were confirmed by the Assembly, went through this process very worthily. It was, of course, not easy at all. It is very demanding because it is in a way a legal and democratic process, and the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina is probably the only religious community that has elections organized in this manner," Kavazovic explained.
At the conclusion of his address, Kavazovic expressed his gratitude to the other participants in the election process for their dignity and contribution.
"At the same time, I want to thank the other two candidates who participated in this race, Salem Dedovic and Mensur Malkic, for their extremely dignified conduct during these elections," concluded Kavazovic.
The ceremonial handover of duties and the presentation of the Mansur to the newly elected Grand Mufti, Prof. Dr. Nedzad-ef. Grabus, will take place on November 15 at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo.
