The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun coordinating efforts with all relevant state-level security agencies in response to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the U.S. government's plan to deport a number of BiH citizens and individuals of BiH origin.
The deportations are part of US President Donald Trump’s drive to fulfil one of his key election promises. A recently issued executive order marks the first step in this policy, which aims to remove large numbers of illegal, undocumented, and problematic immigrants from the United States.
Upon arrival in Bosnia, security agency personnel will receive the deported individuals, who will conduct informational interviews to determine the next steps regarding their status and any necessary legal procedures.
“The Ministry of Security currently has no information indicating that any of these individuals have committed criminal offences. Should such information emerge, security agencies will take appropriate action in line with their legal authority,” the Ministry stated in a response to FENA agency.
