Healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported on Wednesday that they registered a total of 1,742 new coronavirus infections and 79 COVID-19 fatalities throughout the past 24 hours.
In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 4,594 people were tested and 1,163 of them were positive for the virus, while 46 people passed away due to the disease.
In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 474 of the 1,266 people tested since Tuesday were positive and 30 COVID-19 patients died.
Bosnia’s Brcko District reported 105 new infections and three COVID-19 fatalities.
A total of 179,248 people have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic in Bosnia and 137,134 have recovered so far.
The COVID-19 death toll is 7,132.
There are currently 34,982 active coronavirus cases in BiH.
