Bosnia and Herzegovina has recorded 1,628 new coronavirus cases and 51 Covid-19 deaths, the healthcare authorities said on Tuesday.

The new results come from the results of 4,010 lab tests performed on those who reported infection symptoms.

With 1,039 new Covid-19 patients recorded in the past 24 hours, the Federation entity's coronavirus total now stands at 278,581. The region confirmed 23 new fatalities among the Covid-19 patients, bringing the death toll in this part of the country to 8,089.

The healthcare authorities have tested the total of 1,154,492 people since the epidemic outbreak, according to official data.

Republika Srpska logged 458 new Covid-19 patients out of 1,008 tests performed over the past 24 hours. The region's coronavirus total now stands at 106,907 and with 26 new fatalities reported, its death toll is at 5,910.

A total of 401,466 persons have undergone coronavirus tests in this part of the country to date.

Brcko District reported 131 new coronavirus cases out of 190 lab tests. Two more Covid-19 patients have died. Competent authorities in this administrative unit have logged a total of 13,607 Covid-19 cases and 4999 fatalities.
