The Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada (IGK), in cooperation with BiH organizations and communities, has launched an initiative that should activate and motivate the Bosnian diaspora in Canada in the context of the defence of the state of BiH b sending a letter to Canadian members of Parliament requesting that they introduce sanctions against Milorad Dodik, the Bosnian Serb Presidency member for threatening the country’s peace, stability and territorial integrity, the Institute said.
“Right now, the battle for the state of BiH should be fought in every part of the planet Earth where there are BiH citizens and friends of BiH. The Bosnian diaspora in Canada and Canadians, friends of BiH, have a concrete and very important opportunity to demand from the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, all ministers in the Government and all members of both houses of the Canadian Parliament to prevent the violent breakup of BiH. Three decades after the aggression and genocide in BiH, citizens are once again living in fear of those who so openly, so brutally invoke the past and evil as in the 1990s,” the Institute said in a statement.
The Institute believes that Canada must condemn and sanction the secessionist, anti-state, anti-Bosnian, anti-civilization aspirations of Milorad Dodik and his followers in order to prevent another aggression and genocide against the European state of BiH, a UN member.
“We called on the Bosnian diaspora in Canada, Canadians, friends of BiH, to take just one minute and send a letter to the Prime Minister of Canada, members of the Government of Canada and members of both houses of the Canadian Parliament with a request that Canada immediately raises its voice in defence and strengthening BiH in preserving the sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence and international subjectivity of BiH.
IGK calls for the link to the letter to be shared on social and other media.
