Cardinal Vinko Puljic, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conveyed a message to all Muslims in the country marking the end of the holy month Ramadan and their feast Eid this week, wishing them health, peace of mind, and contentment.
“This time of ours needs an architect of peace, coexistence and tolerance. May this be grounded on the faith in God that we confess and witness on these sides living together in the same land and under the same skies,” Puljic wrote in a message that he sent to the leader of Bosnia's Islamic Community, Husein Kavazovic.
“The celebration of Ramadan-Eid alongside the significance of the sacrifice of the fast throughout the month should be a source of joy for the faithful. Let it contribute to the building of better mutual relations and readiness to build our dear Bosnia and Herzegovina together in peace and equality out of the faith in God,” he added.
Ramadan Eid marks the end of the month of fasting for Muslims and it falls on May 13 this year.
