The wonderful scenes from Mostar, where football fans threw countless toys onto the pitch for Turkish and Syrian children affected by the devastating earthquake, have been shared across the world.
Last weekend, the 21st round of BiH’s Premier League was played and the football clubs Velez and Zeljeznicar, together with their fans, organized a campaign to collect toys for children affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
At the Grbavica stadium in Sarajevo, Zeljeznicar fans picked up the toys in the first minute of the match and put them in boxes.
At the Velez Stadium, the fans threw the toys onto the field at halftime. The toys were collected and packed up for transport to the countries affected.
