"At this moment, I can say that, based on the information I have, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s judiciary is working very actively on all cases concerning the current situation. I am in contact with the leadership of the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH, and we must all have trust in the system's institutions," Bogunic stated briefly.
His remarks come a day after Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik signed decrees enacting laws that ban the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office, the HJPC, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA) from operating in RS territory. Dodik also signed decrees bringing into force the entity’s own HJPC law, a law on a special registry for non-profit organizations (widely referred to as the "foreign agents law"), and amendments to RS’s Criminal Code, which introduce prison sentences for failing to implement RS institutions' decisions.
The decrees were published Wednesday night in the RS Official Gazette.
Meanwhile, RS National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandic has convened a meeting of all political party representatives to discuss drafting a new RS Constitution. The meeting is scheduled for 4 pm at the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. However, opposition parties, including the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), Nebojsa Vukanovic, and the People's Front, have refused to participate.
Numerous political figures from the Federation of BiH have strongly condemned Dodik’s actions, urging the BiH Prosecutor’s Office to take immediate action.
